The NPPR Charge

The Local Government (Charges) Act 2009 introduces a €200 annual charge on non principal private residences, payable by the owners to the local authority in whose area the property concerned is located.

Collection of the Non Principal Private Residence Charge for 2012 will commence on the 31st March 2012.   The 2012 charge is based upon the ownership and status of the property on the 31st March 2012.

Please note that you must pay the NPPR charge for 2012 on or before the 30th June to avoid late payment fees.

 Renewals

You can renew all your NPPRs in a single visit to the site (www.nppr.ie). Simply login to your account and proceed to the payment screen where the outstanding amount will be displayed. There is no need to renew separately with each local authority.

Similarly if you choose to send in the renewal form - a single cheque/bank draft/postal order can be used to renew all NPPRs regardless of how many local authorities are involved.
